AQR is excited to host Nicole Merriam, The Heart of Quilter, for our Quiltapalooza™ Special Event!  Join the journey on how to make the Alaska Quilt by Laundry Basket Quilts using the Studio 180 Design Wedge Tool during our 4-day Quiltapalooza™ Special Event!

Nicole is a skilled quilter, knowledgeable instructor, blogger, friend and fellow Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor from Amherst, NH.   She teaches at her local quilt shop, has been a guest speaker and instructor at the New England Quilt Expo (NEQE), and really does put her heart into everything she does.  Her bubbly personality and fun play on quilting will keep your eyes fixated on her when she shares her knowledge with you. 

Your Alaska journey during our 4-day Quiltapalooza™ Special Event will begin with a Thursday evening Meet & Greet and the opportunity to participate in a “Secret” happening.  After a good night’s rest, you will spend the next two days learning how to use your Studio 180 Design Wedge Tool to create the blocks in the Alaska Quilt.  After each day’s instruction and all day on Sunday, the classroom will remain open late for you to practice the skills you learned in class and to allow you to make progress with your quilt’s completion.  The class project is the original 6-color quilt shown in the pattern.  It measures 72” x 72” when completed. 

**As an added bonus, we will also be scheduling a Zoom Call with Nicole prior to the Event to discuss color and how to choose your fabrics for this project.  We will have our classroom set up for a group meeting during the call, and our friendly team will be there to help.  (The date for this event has not yet been scheduled)

9am - 5pm       Day 1 of Classroom Instruction for the Alaska Quilt (includes lunch).
Ballroom will remain open for sewing after class, dinner on your own.

9am - 5pm       Day 2 of Classroom Instruction for the Alaska Quilt (includes lunch).
Ballroom will remain open for sewing after class, dinner on your own. 

Sunday, November 10, 2024

Ballroom will be available for an Open Sew Until 2pm

Other Information to know about the Event:
 - All Breakfasts & Dinners are on your own.  Guests are not required to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, but we have reserved a block of rooms for our guests at a special rate of $99/night that includes a hot breakfast.  
 - Every Guest is required to have their own ORIGINAL copy of the Quilt Pattern.
 - Our Team will send out updates on this event to the email address with which you register.  Please watch your emails and especially for our final registration email that goes out 60 days prior to the event.
 - Precutting for this event will be included in the email that is sent to you 60 days prior to the event.
