One Block Wonder Quiltapalooza® Special Event with Jackie O'Brien

If you have ever dreamed about creating one of these works of art, now's your chance to learn from the One Block Wonder Master, Jackie O'Brien!

Utilizing the Star 60 Tool from Studio 180 Design, you'll be mesmerized by not only your stunning units (not to mention the ease and precision that only Studio 180 Design tools can provide), but how they come together to create this one of a kind masterpiece.

Jackie O'Brien is a seasoned quilter, fellow Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor, and has been teaching the One Block Wonder technique since 2006! Two of her One Block Wonder creations have been featured in Maxine Rosenthal's book, "One Block Wonders Around the World". In addition to her print credits, Jackie's quilts have been exhibited in numerous Quilt Museums, including the Virginia Quilt Museum in Harrisonburg, Virginia. When I've said Jackie is the Master of One Block Wonders, I truly mean it! She has created more than 110 of these beauties and her jaw-dropping designs that leave you wondering where the panels begin and end! To see what I am talking about, check out her gallery of quilts on her If These Threads Could Talk Website.

There was SO MUCH interest following our first One Block Wonder Quiltapalooza® Special Event, we've asked Jackie to return and she has graciously said YES!

We kick things off on Thursday, March 20th with Registration at 9am at the Hilton Garden Inn in Uniontown, PA. Class will begin promptly at 10am, with lunch at Noon and instruction until 5pm. This first day of cutting instruction will set you up for success for the next two days (Friday & Saturday) of instruction, each wrapping with an evening Open Sew time after the day's lesson. If you've attended a prior Quiltapalooza® Special Event, you know we also have a Trunk Show with Jackie one evening of our event. Our event will extend into Sunday allowing our participants a Sunday Open Sew before disembarking your Swirly Adventure at 2pm.

For the project itself, each participant will be making the One Block Wonder of their own design so no two projects will be alike! You will need fabric with a repeat so panels are a great option for this technique, especially if you would like to showcase one in the middle. We will be providing more guidance on choosing fabrics and the supply list below.

Registration for AQR's One Block Wonder Quiltapalooza® Special Event is NOW OPEN Online!

Please be aware, this event is LIMITED to 15 guests to allow ample room to work on this project. We do expected it to fill quickly, so if you are interested, please visit our website to register. If Registration is at capacity, but you are interested in attending, please make sure to place yourself on the waiting list. We always call the waitlist first if something comes available.

We hope you are just as excited about this opportunity as we are!
